Therapists & gratitude

What are some things you are grateful for?

Personally, when I think about the things I am grateful for, so many come to mind. The flooding thoughts of gratitude lead me to peace. This year has been the most challenging year for me personally and professionally. However, I am constantly reminded of my gratitude on a daily basis. Whether that is working with my clients or spending time with my family and friends.

Gratitude List:

  1. I am thankful and honored to hold space for others.
  2. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues who I am constantly learning from.
  3. I am thankful for my clients. I learn something in every session.
  4. I am thankful for my education. It has led me to offer a safe space for individuals to explore emotions and process.
  5. I am grateful for my family and friends who hug me whenever I am in need of a hug.
  6. I am thankful for the present moment.
  7. I am thankful to feel not only physically but both the good and the unwanted emotion.
  8. I am thankful to have insight and personal growth on a daily basis.
  9. I am thankful for the therapeutic relationships. Trust is hard. I am so thankful for the healing process. It is an indescribable joy to see individuals heal. They become authentic with their true self.
  10. I am thankful for all the resources available to help individuals in need.

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it“.-Helen Keller

Relationships are key factors when it comes to support and healing.

“In my early professional years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” –Carl Rogers
